1st – Jan 1st National Gingerbread House Display at the Grove Park Inn. Contestants

from across the country will bring architectural masterpieces to the

1st –Jan.1st  “Stories of Gingerbread” guided tours are available at the Grove Park Inn,

Asheville Go behind the scenes and get details about the construction of the

winning entries and the workings of the judging, competition and display itself.

The hour-long tours are offered Wednesday- Sunday, 9 AM and 3 PM.

1st – Jan 1 “Christmas at Biltmore” This tradition was started in 1895 and is

continued still. Enjoy America’s largest home decorated with dozens

of trees, hundreds of wreaths, bows and poinsettia’s. 9AM – 5PM

2nd “Art After Dark” A special holiday edition with hundreds of luminaries lining

the sidewalks. More than a dozen galleries and studios remain open till 9pm

offering demonstrations, special showings, refreshments and music.

2nd “Dwight Yokam” will be performing at Harrah’s Cherokee Event Center.

2nd – 4th    Dickens Festival – Asheville’s Historic Biltmore Village transforms

itself into a quaint Victorian village. Refreshments, carriage rides, strolling

3rd Maggie Valley Christmas Parade will start at 6pm at the Ghost Town parking

lot and follow Hwy. 19 to the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds.

3rd “A Living Nativity” sponsored by The 3rd Generation Barn Loft will be

at 84 Frank Mann Road. Free Admission. 6:30 – 8:30PM Walk thru to

see live animals and characters, inside historic barn, music. Exit 33 from

I-40, go towards Leicester about ¾ mile, fork left onto N. Hominy Road, then

first right on Frank Mann Road. May bring non perishable food item

for the Canton Community Kitchen and place it in the manger.

 

3rd Balsam Range will kick off their “Winter Concert Series” at the Colonial Theater

4th “Christmas Service in a Stable” sponsored by The 3rd Generation

Barn Loft will be at 84 Frank Mann Road. 6:30 – 7:15PM Worship with

4th – 7th New for 2011, The Grove “Bark” Inn Gingerbread Doghouse Competition & Display! Similar to The National Gingerbread House Competition™, but with
